Grand Massive - Heavy Rock

Servus!

With time and discoveries, a Metalhead usually goes heavier with his music. Always louder, faster. Many of us started with Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Slayer, to end up listening to more extreme genres. I am among these people, and I really enjoy my lovely Death Metal. But sometimes, it is also nice, and necessary I think, to remember where we are from, and to go back to our origins. The roots of Metal. Rock and Heavy Metal. Some today's bands belong to this stream, and bring back a similar sound, with their own style of course. This is how I consider Grand Massive. This is how I feel them. Lighter than what I usually listen to, but a band inspired by the foundations of Metal and by something very close to my Black Heart, Rock.

Please, do me a favor

Servus Metalheads!

I'm out of town for the next two weeks, until the 19th of May. I cannot change the moment, which is very unfortunate, because I miss a bunch of awesome metal events. So please, do me a Favor, and attend them. Here is a short list:

Darkness over StuSta - 30.04.2014

Servus!

Is there a better way to end a long and stressful day than a Metal Gig? What if , for this concert, good bands are playing, beer is cheap and friends are attending it as well? It sounds like an awesome night, right? Well, the stars were aligned on Wednesday night, when the Darkness took over StudentenStadt.

Grand Massive, Smoke the Sky, Woe Concert - 25.05.2014

Servus!

I love concerts. The actual gig, of course, but also the few hours following it. I like sending text messages to my friends while in the subway/bus to tell them what they just missed, or to give them the bands' names so they can check them out. I like coming back home and having my mind blown. I like sitting in front of my laptop right after the gig and listening to the bands I just saw for 2 or 3 hours, even if I'm exhausted and it's 3h am. I like learning the lyrics by heart within a couple of hours.

These lines summarize pretty well how I felt after the Chaos Blast Zone concert featuring Grand Massive, Smoke the Sky and Woe. We were served some awesome Heavy Rock and Metal.

Dark Easter Metal Meeting 2014

What's up Metalheads?

How did you celebrate Easter this year? With your Family? I wish I would have done that, but the Atlantic ocean doesn't allow me to do so. Well, when family is not an option, the only thing left is Metal. Dear Old Friend. Well, dear friend for sure, but the age factor depends on how you look at it. In my case, I am a longtime Heavy, Trash and Death Metal fan, but the Black side of my beloved music still remains unknown to me. Why? I don't really know. I think I had a psychological blockage for years because of the very graphic and gore pictures on my neighbor's T-Shirts when I was a kid. Anyway, the style is growing on me now, and I want to explore it. I need to start somewhere, and I thought The Dark Easter Metal Meeting was a great opportunity.

Combustion, Cripper, Milking the GoatMachine Concert Review - 19.04.2014

Servus Metalheads!

I hope you had a Metal Easter! Mine was great, full of concerts. The first one was on Saturday night, and I was very excited by it. Out of the three bands, I knew only one, I have not heard the music of the two others before. I didn't want to, I wanted to discover them live. It adds a little something, I think. So here we go!

Crowbar + Jenny Hooker Concert Review - 05.04.2014

Servus Metalheads!

Six years without any album. Six damned years. Crowbar's fans were all over the place with "Sever the Wicked Hand" in 2011. Not only because we had new material to hear, but also because a new album usually means a tour. That's how the Beards took over Munich.
