Metalhead in Munich: Where to hang out in Munich? - Raw

Where to hang out in Munich? - Raw

Hey Guys!

If you are in Munich and you're looking for the Metal scene, you may have some difficulties. The scene is small. And our bars are not so easy to find.

The first one you should check out is Raw. It's close to Stiglmaierplatz. The exact address is Schleißheimerstr. 28. You can get there with the U1, or with the U2 if you're willing to walk 7-8 minutes from Königsplatz. The Night Tram 20 is also very close, as well as the 27. No excuses!

Behind the bar, you'll find the owner, Marv, from Tuesday to Saturday. He opens at 20h, and close at 2h am.

The place is very small, but I think it's a part of its charm. The music is just awesome. Everything can be heard in Raw: from Metallica to Death, with Iced Earth, Pantera, and even Johnny Cash if you stay late enough! But if you hear Johnny Cash, it means you need to go home, the bar is closing. Moreover, the beer is cheap. 3,10E for a half-liter Helles (Tegernsee). The drinks cost usually 7,50E, but Marv always has something special going on. You should have a look at his Facebook page to see what he offers you daily.

If you go there around 20h during the week, you might find some people with a suit and ties, having some beers. Don't worry, the Metalheads will come. People from all ages go there, from their early twenties to their sixties. Everyone is so nice, like all metal places. I've met very good friends of mine there. Don't be afraid to go there alone, even if you're a girl. It's not awkward, and people will talk to you. And not necessarily to flirt with you. Just to talk. And if your German isn't great, or doesn't exist, don't panic. All bartenders know English, and most of people there enjoy talking in English.

And the bathrooms are clean!

I'm there usually once to three times a week. I just call it My Home now. Hope to see you there!

Cheers! \m/
