Death to All Tour - Thought and Review

Hey Guys!

I hope you're doing fine!

On Friday night, I went to Death to All Tour. As a huge Death Fan, I HAD to go. I've never seen Death live, 'cause I was too young when Chuck passed away. So I saw this concert as the closest I could get to Death.

But let's be honest here. Chuck was a music genius, and a god. He gave soul to music, and all of his songs, especially his solos, have a strong intensity. You know, when you just close your eyes and let the music getting inside of you, and you forget everything around? You know what I mean, right?  Nobody can reproduce it, it was a gift given to Chuck.

I think this is why there are a lot of negative reviews about this concert out there. No one can ever replace Chuck, and I think few people attend the concert thinking they would feel the music like if Chuck was playing. You need to go there in memory of him, to honor the music, the musician and his genius. And then, you'll enjoy it.

I had some doubts about Max Phelps. When DTA announced who would make the vocals and the guitar, my first reaction was "Who?!" Like almost everyone, I guess. But this guy, younger than me!!, is awesome. The first parts of the concert were done by Darkside (that I missed -.-'') and Obscura. They are pretty good! The singer made me think of Chuck, a little bit. How he plays, how he occupies the stage, how he headbangs. Well, I've never been to a Death concert as I said, I've only watched it on Youtube, so don't insult me because I say it! I may be totally wrong, but that's the impressions I got. Because they have a style similar to Death, I think they were a very good choice for the first part. And I now have a crush on the singer. A huge crush :P

Anyway. Then DTA arrived. They played what? 3 or 4 songs. It was good. I was thinking "Well, the music is good, obviously, but I don't feel anything special", and the music stopped. A scream came down, and a video started. Pictures of Chuck, some interviews he made. Have you ever been to a concert with Hard core Metalheads, and no one is talking, no one is moving? It was pretty impressive.

This video changed the energy in the room. We all became very emotional (my friends and I, at least), and I think everyone realized we were there to honor Chuck, and to make him alive through his music. Maybe because I am a girl, but I was so touched by the video. I had so much feelings going on, I just hugged one of my friends as long as the video lasted. He won't admit it, but I think he needed it to! :P

The video lasted 5-10 minutes, and the band came back, and played the classics (they didn't play Symbolic, we were very disappointed of it). For the rest of the concert, I just closed my eyes, and felt the music as deep as I could. I could have been alone there, I wouldn't have realized it. I just got lost in the music. I swear, Chuck was there on Friday.

I really, really loved what they did. I have not been that emotional in a concert for a very long time. I can only recommend it to you, but as I said, don't go there thinking it will be Chuck. Go there to honor him.

You won't be forgotten, Chuck. You live through your music. Everyday.

We all miss you.
