Cyrence - Trash Metal

Who doesn't like to discover new bands?  If you support your Locals at the same time, it's Win-Win. 

Few weeks ago, I attended a small gig in 8Below, an underground bar/club in Munich. 3 local metal bands for 1E, who's gonna pass such an offer?

One of the band playing was Cyrence. They describe their music as Trash, which is, I think, discussable. I personally think they are between Heavy and Trash, because their sound is not that fast, and distortions could definitely be more exploited. But you know, Heavy, Trash, these are only words. Music is what really matters. And what they do is pretty good.

First impression: Good presence on stage, and good sound. No heavy head banging, but still, a constant head movement.

They played about 45 minutes, which is long enough to know if you like it or not, but not enough to really know them. So I've dug into their material to forge a stronger opinion. The result? I enjoy their music. I really do.  

Most of their pieces mix fast and slow rhythms, and I like the way they balance it. You don't feel overwhelmed by the changes, everything is done so naturally. Moreover, the singer's rasping voice fits pretty well with the general low frequencies of their music. 

That's the kind of music you listen to when you feel good. No need of brutal and aggressive riffs. Just good rhythms
