Metalhead in Munich: Grand Massive, Smoke the Sky, Woe Concert - 25.05.2014

Grand Massive, Smoke the Sky, Woe Concert - 25.05.2014

Servus!

I love concerts. The actual gig, of course, but also the few hours following it. I like sending text messages to my friends while in the subway/bus to tell them what they just missed, or to give them the bands' names so they can check them out. I like coming back home and having my mind blown. I like sitting in front of my laptop right after the gig and listening to the bands I just saw for 2 or 3 hours, even if I'm exhausted and it's 3h am. I like learning the lyrics by heart within a couple of hours.

These lines summarize pretty well how I felt after the Chaos Blast Zone concert featuring Grand Massive, Smoke the Sky and Woe. We were served some awesome Heavy Rock and Metal.

Grand Massive

Grand Massive was not totally stranger to me because of the video Munich Unsigned has made on them. At some point, I have kind of lost track of them among all the other locals bands I was discovering. It was very unfortunate, they are amazing. I do not want to write too much about them now, I am dedicating a whole post to them, in which I am going to deepen more their material. To keep it short, the guys are playing a Massive Heavy Rock. I don't think i could describe their music more accurately. I like the vocals, the drums, the guitars, everything. Their performance was great!
Want some proof of their talent? Watch this video.

Smoke the Sky

This is the first local band I've listened to. They are also the topic of one of my first post on this blog. I read it again, and I must admit that I love them more now than a couple of months ago. What is different? I saw them live. Smoke the Sky is a great band to hear on CD, but they are going to amaze you live. They have this incredible energy and charisma that steal your heart. They make you feel their music instead of just hearing it. Moreover, all of their songs are gonna stick in your head for days due to their very catchy riffs. Their CD has been playing non stop in my apartment for the last 2 days. I love them, so do my roommates.
If you have not, give them a thumbs up on their Facebook page, and watch the episode of Munich Unsigned. They deserve more place on the scene, and bigger stages as well. Sunny Red is too small for them.
Horns up Guys, your show was terrific! \m/

Woe

This was the surprise band. The one I was discovering. The guys are from Sweden and they play an abrasive Heavy Metal. Old Fashion Style. Nothing complicated, nothing fancy. Just effective and solid music. As it should be, right? I really enjoy the guitar solos and the vocals. I want to add that I liked how the singer was moving while singing. It gave an old style Rock N Roll touch to their performance. I'm glad I attended the gig, they are now part of my playlist.
Check them out, they worth it! Here is their Facebook Page.
Come back to Germany at any time!

In two words: Awesome concert. Great music, great people. Chaos Blast Concert are always a big success, this one was no exception!

Cheers Metalheads!
